LG Innotek Appoints First CEO Born in the 1970s... Moon Hyuksu Named Vice President (Comprehensive)
New CEO Appointment: Vice President Moon Hyuk-su
LG Innotek has appointed its first CEO born in the 1970s.
On the 23rd, LG Innotek held a board meeting and appointed Moon Hyuk-soo, Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), as the new CEO, succeeding Jung Cheol-dong who is moving to LG Display. CEO Moon was born in 1970 and holds a bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from KAIST. He joined LG Cable (now LS Mtron) in 1998. He joined LG Innotek in 2009 and served as Head of Optical Solutions Development in 2014, Senior Manager of Optical Solutions Development in 2015, and Head of Optical Solutions Research Institute (Executive Director) in 2018. In 2022, he was promoted to Vice President and Head of the Optical Solutions Business Division, and from this year, he has been serving as CSO Vice President.
LG Innotek described Vice President Moon, newly appointed as CEO, as "a prepared CEO who has experience in development, business, and strategy, capable of successfully leading innovation and future readiness for LG Innotek’s sustainable growth."
In particular, Vice President Moon is recognized for playing a key role in growing the optical solutions business to global No. 1 by continuously developing camera modules applying world-first technologies while serving as Head of Optical Solutions Development and Research Institute at LG Innotek since 2009. Since 2020, as Head of the Optical Solutions Business Division, he has led the global smartphone camera module market by leveraging technical expertise and outstanding leadership to maintain technological competitive advantage. He has also actively introduced DX technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and deep learning into production processes, significantly enhancing manufacturing competitiveness.
Meanwhile, along with the appointment of the new CEO, LG Innotek promoted a total of seven executives, including three Executive Directors and four Senior Managers.
Sejin Oh, Senior Manager, who strengthened key customer and strategic partnerships in the optical solutions business and maintained a solid global No. 1 position in camera and 3D sensing modules; Byung-guk Yoo, Senior Manager, who improved profitability through product portfolio optimization, platform model-centered development, and enhanced global supply chain management (SCM) capabilities in the automotive components business, a future growth engine; and Seok Yoon, Senior Manager, who promoted the strengthening of global-level compliance systems and advanced legal processes, were promoted to Executive Directors.

Additionally, Hong-pil Kim, Principal, who contributed to profitability enhancement and new business order expansion in the electronic components business; Hong-geun Park, Principal, who achieved production system stabilization and cost competitiveness at the Vietnam subsidiary; Seok Bae, Research Fellow, who led future technology acquisition in device materials such as magnetic materials; and Jong-guk Kim, Principal, who established HR systems for excellent talent recruitment and employee experience innovation, were newly appointed as Senior Managers. Ji-hwan Park, Executive Director and CFO of LG CNS, was assigned as CFO.
