Han Chaeyang, Emart CEO, "We Will Support Japan's 'Nitori' First Store Success in Korea"
Participation in Emart Hawolgok Branch Opening Ceremony on the 23rd
Han Chaeyang, CEO of Emart, visited the newly renovated Emart Hawolgok branch on the 23rd to convey congratulations on the opening of 'Nitori,' known as the IKEA of Japan, in its first store in Korea. He also stated that since Nitori's first domestic store is located in Emart, they will support Nitori's successful entry into the Korean market.
The opening ceremony was held with the attendance of Masanori Taketa, CEO of Nitori headquarters, Keigo Onuki, CEO of Nitori Korea, Koichi Aiboshi, Japanese Ambassador to Korea, and other Japanese officials, along with Han Chaeyang, CEO of Emart, Suyeon Wi, Head of Development Innovation Division (Executive Director), Woonki Hwang, Head of Emart Product Division (Executive Director), and other Emart officials. Nitori is a popular Japanese interior and furniture company, and this is their first official store in Korea.
The Nitori Hawolgok branch spans a total of 904 pyeong, occupying about 58% of the tenant space in the Hawolgok branch, making it a significant store. It displays around 8,000 popular products, including Nitori's representative N series such as 'N Warm,' plates, mattresses, and more.
Masanori Taketa, CEO of Nitori headquarters, said, "We have long wished to enter the Korean market, and we are pleased to open our first store in Seoul. Rapidly increasing the number of stores in the growing Asian region is Nitori's top priority, and since Korea holds an important position in the Asian economy, we will make even greater efforts to expand our stores."
Ambassador Aiboshi also said, "Recently, flights to Japan have recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels, increasing exchanges between Korea and Japan. I believe there are people in Korea who have been waiting for Nitori to open here, and I hope that more people will accept and use Nitori products well through this opening."
