Gubokgyu, Hwasun County Governor, Requests Council Cooperation for 'Uninterrupted Change and Leap'
On the 21st, Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do announced that County Governor Gu Bok-gyu said in his policy speech at the Hwasun County Council on the 20th, "I once again ask the residents and council members to lend their support for continuous change and leap forward."
In his policy speech at the 2nd regular session of the 263rd Hwasun County Council, Governor Gu highlighted excellent policies such as ▲ rental housing fully occupied by youth and newlyweds ▲ establishment of the nation's first dedicated multicultural family team ▲ operation of the Hwasun-style 24-hour daycare centers ▲ village doctor system, as well as ▲ the Hwasun Dolmen Festival ▲ designation of Dosan-myeon Mosan Village as the world's best tourism village ▲ the first pledge of the 8th local government term, the Hwasuncheon Flower River Road project ▲ and the Hwasun Farm online shopping mall for agricultural specialties surpassing annual sales of 1 billion KRW, along with ▲ achievements such as ranking first in Jeollanam-do in the government's joint evaluation for the first time in history.
Governor Gu expressed confidence, saying, "In 2023, entering the second year of the 8th local government term, the policies promised at the inauguration ceremony have begun to show results one by one."
However, he mentioned that with the explanation of the 2024 county administration direction and the submission of the budget proposal, they are facing the worst financial crisis due to an unprecedented shortage of tax revenue, and he requested close cooperation from the residents of Hwasun and the county council.
Regarding the direction of county administration for the next year, Governor Gu explained seven key pillars: ▲ expanding cultural and tourism infrastructure and realizing the era of 5 million tourists early ▲ increasing the added value of agriculture to build a prosperous wealthy rural area ▲ securing vaccine sovereignty and nurturing talent as a bio and vaccine leading city ▲ overcoming the crisis of local extinction with Hwasun-style population policies ▲ making all-out efforts for regional economic recovery and revitalization of abandoned mining areas ▲ warm welfare policies that consider socially vulnerable groups ▲ and implementing trustworthy administration through communication and empathy.
He added that the total scale of the 2024 budget proposal is 663.2 billion KRW, prioritizing the stabilization of people’s livelihoods and focusing on minimizing unnecessary and excessive budgets.
