Pukyong National University Professor Kim Youngmok Receives 'Won Jonghoon Academic Award'
Professor Kim Young-mok (majoring in Food Engineering) at Pukyong National University received the ‘Won Jong-hoon Academic Award’ from the Korean Society of Fisheries Science (President Lee Jung-seok).

View original imageProfessor Kim Young-mok was awarded this prize at the 2023 Annual General Meeting of the Korean Society of Fisheries Science (President Lee Jung-seok), held on the 3rd at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 in Busan.
Starting as a member of the Korean Society of Fisheries Science in 2006, Professor Kim has served as the editor-in-chief of the society since 2016. He has published 222 papers in domestic and international academic journals and registered or applied for 58 patents. His contributions to the development of basic and applied technologies in the fisheries food sector have been recognized for advancing the fisheries food industry.
In addition, as a joint researcher at the Pukyong National University Marine Bionics Convergence Technology Center, a university-focused research institute (Director: Professor Jung Won-kyo), and as a member of the Central Fisheries and Fishing Village Policy Review Committee of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, he has been actively involved in the development of fisheries science and the promotion of the fisheries industry in Korea, earning high praise for his achievements.

The ‘Won Jong-hoon Academic Award’ was established in 1996 to honor the late Won Jong-hoon, former president of the Korean Society of Fisheries Science and former professor at Pukyong National University, and to encourage research among younger scholars. It is awarded to regular members who have been active in the Korean Society of Fisheries Science for more than 10 years and have contributed to the advancement of academic and technological fields in fisheries science.
