Busan's Excellent School Meal Policy Learned in Mongolia
Officials in charge of school meals from the Mongolian government are gathering in Busan to learn about excellent school meal policies.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 20th that 10 officials from the Mongolian government responsible for school meals will visit the education office from the 21st to the 23rd to benchmark school meal policies.
Recently, the Mongolian government has been promoting the "School Meal Environment Improvement and Capacity Building Project" to expand school meals nationwide, and they are visiting Busan to find directions for the development of school meals in Mongolia.
The Busan Office of Education plans to share overall school meal policies with them, including experiences in school meal development, establishment of management systems, and actual operations.
On the 21st, they will visit Yangun Elementary School, a classroom distribution school, to learn about all aspects of school meals such as food ingredient inspection, distribution, and tasting.
On the 22nd, they will visit the Busan Nutrition Education Experience Center to participate in the "2023 Nutrition and Dietary Education Experience Festival" held in celebration of Kimchi Day. They will engage in kimchi-making activities together with students, parents, faculty, and local residents, experiencing the excellence of Korean food culture.
On the 23rd, they will visit Busan Il Science High School, a cafeteria distribution school. They will tour the cafe-style student cafeteria, which is used as a space for communication and culture, experiencing various models of school meals.

A representative from the Busan Office of Education stated, "We plan to join forces to develop future-oriented and progressive school meal models for both countries through this visit by the Mongolian government," adding, "We hope this visit will lead to broad exchanges not only in school meals but also in education, culture, and various other fields."
