'Asking About Our Well-Being'... Chosun University Visual Culture Curator Graduation Exhibition Held
According to Chosun University, the graduation exhibition of students majoring in Visual Culture Curator in the Department of Cultural Contents at the College of Fine Arts, titled "Survey on Our Well-being," will be held for five days from the 20th to the 24th at the Baekhak Art Museum of Chosun University.
This exhibition is a time for 10 graduates majoring in Visual Culture Curator to act as curators and address the issues embedded in our society based on the aesthetics, art history knowledge, and cultural theories they have learned over four years. It offers an opportunity to reflect on contemporary society and contains considerations for a better life.
In particular, the exhibition draws attention by exploring various problems faced by modern people, such as the loss of self-identity, various addiction phenomena, the relationship between home and people, and emotional conflicts, asking about our well-being and exploring the future.
The exhibition title, "Survey on Our Well-being," knocks on the door of a reality that relentlessly pursues development without filtration and asks about the well-being of the "I" and "we" who have been hurt by various problems. Through this, the meaning of "we" transforms into a meaning of mutual support and encouragement, inspiring a society where solidarity is possible.
The exhibition involves 10 curators: Kim Gawon, Kim Sehyun, Park Bogeun, Park Jaehyun, Lee Yujin, Yoon Heea, Jung Minji, Choi Dogyeom, Choi Juyeon, and Hong Seungyun. The themes are divided into six sections, covering topics such as "Loss of Self-Subjectivity," "Dangers of Addiction," "Meaning of Home," "Starting Point of Conflict," "Trauma," and "Realization of Utopia."
The first section, "I Have Lost Myself," highlights modern people who have lost their self-subjectivity, while the second section, "Addicted Somehow," provides insight into the lives of modern people exposed to various addictions.
The third section, "Is Your Home Well?" deals with homes distorted into materialistic means, and the fourth section titled "Collision, Collision, Collision!" explores the starting points of conflicts and offers an opportunity to consider others' emotions. Following this, the section "The Power to Face Myself" delves into trauma arising from relationships, encouraging courage to confront and overcome it.
The final sixth section, "The World We Have Dreamed Of," shows the utopia pursued by modern people, helping them to refresh and recharge themselves.
