POSCO Group announced on the 19th that it held the 'POSCO Group Tech Day' event on the 16th (local time) at Renault's R&D center in France, introducing core technologies of eco-friendly future materials and its main products.
POSCO Group, which has maintained a close cooperative relationship with Renault, a finished car manufacturer, especially in the steel sector, explained that it held this event to strengthen the strategic partnership built around the existing steel division and to expand the scope of cooperation to secondary battery materials and the hydrogen sector.
At Renault's R&D center, POSCO Group exhibited its main steel products such as automotive body and chassis steel sheets, electric steel sheets for eco-friendly vehicle drive motors, as well as technologies related to secondary battery materials including lithium, nickel, anode and cathode materials, and hydrogen business. They also discussed technical cooperation plans with Renault in various fields including steel, secondary battery materials, and hydrogen vehicles.
The Tech Day event, held for the second time since 2011, is part of POSCO Group's proactive customer support activities that anticipate changes in future market environments and business demands of clients, proposing suitable technologies and product development ahead of time.

The event was attended by about 600 employees from Renault's technology and purchasing departments, and from POSCO Group, Kim Ji-yong, CTO and Head of the Future Technology Research Institute at POSCO Holdings, and Hong Young-jun, Head of the Secondary Battery Materials Research Institute, among others. Kim Ji-yong, Head of the Future Technology Research Institute, stated, "We will expand our partnership with Renault Group to all areas of eco-friendly future materials such as secondary battery materials and hydrogen, developing it into a strategic cooperation that leads carbon neutrality and the global eco-friendly vehicle market."
