The 'Busan Area Information Security Gifted Education Center' is an educational institution aimed at nurturing local talent in the increasingly important field of information security. Busan City selected Pukyong National University as the operating institution in 2022 and became the first in the nation to directly invest city funds to operate the center.
Students selected earlier this year through document screening and interviews received specialized information security education at Pukyong National University every other Saturday, covering topics such as information ethics, network basics, and web hacking techniques. They also gained various practical experiences by participating in information security competitions and company visit programs.
Professor Lee Kyung-hyun, director of the Busan Area Information Security Gifted Education Center, expressed gratitude to the students and parents who worked hard over the past eight months and stated, “We will continue to do our best to help local youth grow into future talents in the security field.”
Sim Jae-min, Planning Officer of Busan City, said, “We will actively support nurturing next-generation leaders in the information security field and creating a local information security ecosystem through cooperation with Pukyong National University and various institutions.”
