Professor Lee Ji-woong of National Pukyong University Receives Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation at Korea Energy Awards
Professor Lee Ji-woong of the Department of Economics at Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-soo) received a Commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy at the '2023 Korea Energy Awards' ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The Korea Energy Awards is the largest awards event in the energy sector of the Republic of Korea. It annually recognizes and rewards individuals and organizations that have contributed to improving national energy efficiency, developing the renewable energy industry, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Professor Lee Ji-woong was recognized for his outstanding academic research related to climate change and his external activities to promote policy discourse, contributing to the establishment and effective implementation of South Korea's climate change policies.
He has also been highly praised for his contributions to the advancement of the emissions trading system through his roles as a member of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's Emission Allowance Allocation Committee and the Ministry of Environment's Allocation Decision Review Committee.

Last year, Professor Lee was selected for the Social Science Research (SSK) project by the National Research Foundation of Korea, leading a research team on the theme of "Transition to a Low-Carbon Economy and Management of Transition Risks," among other research activities.
