Gong Yeong-min, Goheung County Governor, Launches Comprehensive Effort to Secure National Funding During National Assembly Visit

10-Year Plan Including Establishment of a 100,000 Population Base Project and More

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) is visiting the National Assembly and actively securing national funds to establish a foundation for a population of 100,000 in 10 years, which is the goal of the 8th elected local government.

On the 17th, Gong Young-min, Governor of Gohung-gun, visited the National Assembly and met with Seo Sam-seok, Chairman of the Budget and Accounts Committee, Kang Hoon-sik, Secretary of the Budget and Accounts Committee, Lee Won-taek, Budget Committee member, and Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Choo Kyung-ho, explaining Gohung-gun’s key projects and requesting active financial support.

The key projects proposed by Gohung-gun on this day include ▲ National Palyeongsan Subtropical Forest Healing Center (project cost undecided) ▲ Establishment of Gohung ‘Sports Value Center’ (project cost undecided) ▲ Creation of a base space for nurturing global leaders Marianne and Margaret (17 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of Gohung ‘Smart Horticulture Complex’ (15 billion KRW) ▲ Construction of Gohung Bay Marina Port (10 billion KRW) ▲ Construction of a dedicated marine waste collection vessel (1.4 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of Gohung ‘Return-to-Fishing School’ (1 billion KRW), totaling seven projects.

Governor Gong Young-min has continuously visited central government ministries, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the National Assembly to request national funding for major projects. On the 17th and 18th of last month, he also visited the National Assembly and the Ministry of Economy and Finance respectively to explain and propose key pending projects.

On this day, Governor Gong said, “It is clear that securing national funds is the top priority for the change and development of Gohung.” He added, “We will do our utmost to secure as much national funding as possible until the government budget is finalized.”
