Woman Caring for Elderly Until Police Arrived
"She Was Shaking, So I Helped Her Dress"
A CCTV video capturing a woman who took off her coat for an elderly dementia patient wandering the streets in pajamas and cared for him until the police arrived is touching many hearts.
According to Channel A on the 16th, on the morning of the 7th, when the first cold wave warning of this fall was issued, an elderly man in his 80s, Mr. A, was wandering the streets of Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, dressed only in pajamas and slippers.
Mr. A was walking among citizens bundled up in coats when he suddenly collapsed. Seeing this, a woman helped him up, sat him down by the roadside, and took off her own coat to cover him.

The woman who stopped her commute to care for Mr. A was identified as office worker Kim Seon. Ms. Kim recalled, "He was shaking a lot, so I put clothes on him first. It seemed very cold, so I sat close to him to keep him warm and held him so he wouldn't fall."
Mr. A, who was suffering from dementia, had left his home dressed in pajamas and was wandering alone about 500 meters away. The sudden cold wave could have led to a serious accident, but thanks to Ms. Kim's good deed, Mr. A was reunited with his family. Two hours later, Mr. A's daughter found her father at the police station and shed tears.
Ms. Kim said, "(His daughter) cried a lot while talking. I told her, 'It's such a relief that your father is safe. Don't worry. Anyone could have done this.'"
Netizens who heard the story responded with various comments such as, "It must not have been easy, but it warms my heart," "A wonderful and warm-hearted person. You will be blessed," "An angel appeared in human form," "One person's good deed makes a difficult world bright and beautiful," and "I respect the willingness to help the vulnerable without passing by on a busy morning."
