"Securing Party Democracy... Innovation Committee's Recommendations to the Party"
Former Saenuri Party (predecessor of the People Power Party) leader Kim Moo-sung said on the 17th that "those who monopolize and enjoy power around the presidential authority must throw themselves and sacrifice for the party" to the People Power Party Innovation Committee.
Kim, invited by Innovation Committee Chairman In Yo-han, visited the People Power Party headquarters on the day and proposed such party innovation measures at the committee's 8th meeting. Kim said, "The most important thing is to secure party democracy," adding, "The essence of party democracy is to return the nomination rights to the people."

Kim experienced a nomination conflict with then-President Park Geun-hye during the 2016 general election when he was the party leader. He said, "The reason our party has become so weak, faced difficulties, split, and conservatism has divided is all due to wrong nominations," adding, "We have lost winnable elections because of poor nominations, and we have gone through this every four years." He then said, "This innovation should focus on bottom-up nominations that can secure and establish party democracy, and the Innovation Committee should recommend this direction to the party."

Kim suggested to President Yoon Suk-yeol that "he should show the people that he can lose." He said, "Many around him think that President Yoon is doing very well in setting and managing the direction of state affairs, but the concern is why his approval rating is low," adding, "The country was ruined too much over the past five years, and although the term is five years, the actual working period is only two to three years. In the rush to fix things quickly, showing a lack of proper democratic procedures appeared arrogant to the people." He continued, "The president and those in power should show the people that they can lose, and the ruling party should also show that it can lose to the opposition."
