National Pension Service Adds to Holdings in Apple, MS, Amazon, Nvidia, Alphabet, Meta, and Tesla
The National Pension Service expanded its investment in the U.S. stock market in the third quarter (July to September) of this year and purchased major U.S. big tech stocks known as the 'Magnificent 7.'
According to data submitted by the National Pension Service to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the 16th, the direct investment scale of the National Pension Service in U.S. stocks was $62.4927 billion (approximately 81 trillion KRW), an increase of about $500 million (0.8%) compared to $61.99512 billion in the second quarter (April to June). Compared to the end of last year ($50.8368 billion), it increased by $11.6559 billion (22.9%).
They additionally secured about 250,000 shares of Apple, the company with the largest market capitalization, and purchased approximately 150,000 shares of Microsoft and 140,000 shares of Amazon. They also added to their holdings of Nvidia (54,000 shares), Alphabet A (220,000 shares), Alphabet C (130,000 shares), Meta (92,000 shares), and Tesla (44,000 shares).

Meanwhile, the National Pension Service's fund management return rate was recorded at 10.27% through August this year. By asset class, overseas stocks posted the best performance with a 20.15% return, followed by domestic stocks (17.25%), overseas bonds (6.85%), alternative investments (6.37%), and domestic bonds (3.05%).
