Gwangju Seo-gu Opens 'Cheonwon Guksi 3rd Branch' in Hwajeong 4-dong
The representative brand of Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, ‘Cheonwon Guksi’ has opened its third store in Hwajeong 4-dong.
On the morning of the 16th, Seo-gu announced that it held the opening ceremony of Cheonwon Guksi 3rd branch with Seo-gu Mayor Kim Ikang, Director Chu Wangseok of Seo-gu Senior Club, Seo-gu Council Chairperson Go Gyeongae, and other officials in attendance, and has begun full-scale operations.
Unlike the 1st and 2nd branches, Cheonwon Guksi 3rd branch will operate on weekday afternoons and weekends for teenagers.

Considering that youth facilities such as Gwangju Youth Training Center, Gwangju Student Independence Movement Memorial Hall, elementary schools, and local children’s centers are concentrated in the Hwajeong-dong area, the 3rd branch will sell noodles to teenagers not only during the basic business hours (weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) but also on weekday afternoons from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The price of noodles is 1,000 won per bowl for residents aged 65 and older, disabled persons, and teenagers under 18, and 3,000 won for the general public.
Seo-gu Mayor Kim Ikang said, “Cheonwon Guksi is establishing itself as a representative brand of Together Seo-gu that spreads the value of sharing,” and added, “In particular, I hope the 3rd branch becomes a ‘happy dream place’ that supports teenagers’ dreams by providing them with a hearty meal.”
Meanwhile, Seo-gu opened the 1st Cheonwon Guksi branch near Yangdong Traditional Market in March, followed by the 2nd branch in Pungam-dong in May.
Cheonwon Guksi is operated to create jobs for seniors and promote the consumption of domestic wheat, and sharing refrigerators where single-person households and low-income groups can take side dishes and groceries for free are installed at the Pungam-dong and Hwajeong 4-dong stores.
These refrigerators are stocked in real time with food and items donated freely by residents and small business owners who want to practice sharing.
