Ulsan City Promotes Discovery of Win-Win Cooperation Projects Between Large and Small-Medium Enterprises in Shipbuilding and Marine Sector
ICT Small Forum and Research Group Excellence Award Ceremony
Ulsan City is holding an awards event to discover win-win cooperation business models between large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
On the 16th at 2 p.m., Ulsan City announced that it will hold the awards ceremony for the ‘2023 Win-Win Cooperation Type Shipbuilding and Marine ICT Convergence SME Forum and Research Group’ at the main auditorium of the Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency.
The awards ceremony was organized to celebrate and encourage the achievements since the launch of the SME Forum.
Sixty representatives from Ulsan City, the Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency, and companies participating in the SME Forum will attend to present ▲ SME Forum results ▲ introduce utilization plans ▲ and hold the awards ceremony.
On this day, a total of nine teams will be awarded, including three Innovation Awards, three Creativity Awards, and three Leap Awards.
An official from Ulsan City said, “Forums that submitted excellent projects based on innovative business tasks have been awarded,” adding, “We hope these projects will be commercialized to further advance Ulsan’s shipbuilding and marine industry.”
The SME Forum is one of the detailed projects under the Ministry of Science and ICT’s national funding project for the creation of a shipbuilding and marine software convergence cluster. It is an industry-academia-research institute research group launched in May this year to promote the co-growth of domestic shipbuilding and marine companies.
Since its launch, 46 local shipbuilding and marine-related companies and institutions have participated in nine forums, producing a total of 18 project proposals?two per forum?in efforts to discover win-win cooperation business models between large and small-medium enterprises.

The shipbuilding and marine steel manufacturing industry digital transformation project (19 billion KRW), selected in this year’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy public contest, is evaluated to have been greatly contributed to by the ‘Shipbuilding and Marine Steel Digital Transformation Co-Growth’ forum presented at last year’s forum.
