To acknowledge this and boost the pride of businesspeople and workers, the city established and has operated the “Corporate Hall of Fame” in September 2005, the first of its kind among local governments nationwide.
Every two years, the city selects the top CEO and worker, holds a dedication ceremony, and exhibits the honorees’ face plaques, promotional videos, and major products for two years. Afterwards, the face plaques are moved to a dedicated booth for permanent preservation. To date, a total of 26 individuals?both CEOs and workers?have been honored.
Daegun Tech CEO Shin, honored as this year’s top CEO, has contributed to regional industrial development since founding the company in 1998 by pioneering the world’s first magnesium material printing technology. Through securing competitiveness in 3D printing prototypes, he has advanced the local industry. He also achieved overseas market entry through technology development, receiving awards such as the $5 million Export Tower. In addition, he has consistently engaged in social contribution activities, including continuous support for elderly living alone, child-headed households, and victims of crime, as well as industrial security efforts.
Senior Engineer Hong, honored as this year’s top worker, has worked for 33 years in the body service team at Hyundai Motor Company Changwon Service Center, accumulating specialized skills and expertise in automotive painting. He has registered two patents for multi-tasking painting platforms for vehicle exterior materials, implemented 57 process improvements, and developed 7 technologies. Through relentless technological innovation, he has invented and improved new painting methods, contributing to cost reduction and productivity enhancement.
