Uljin-gun Begins Accepting Applications for 2024 Organic Fertilizer Support
Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will accept applications for organic (compost) fertilizer for 2024 at the township and town offices in the farmland locations until December 8.
The organic fertilizer support project is an annual initiative aimed at reducing the financial burden on farmers, preserving soil environment through organic matter supply, promoting sustainable eco-friendly agriculture, and encouraging the production of high-quality safe agricultural products.
The supported organic (compost) fertilizers include five types: three types of organic fertilizers (mixed oil cake, mixed organic matter, organic compound) and two types of matured compost (livestock manure compost, general compost).
The support amount per 20kg bag is 1,600 KRW for organic fertilizers and 1,500 KRW for matured compost. Uljin-gun provides additional support from its own budget to reduce farmers' burden. Therefore, the support for organic fertilizers (3 types) is increased by 300 KRW per 20kg bag to 1,900 KRW, and for matured compost within the jurisdiction, it is increased by 600 KRW to 2,100 KRW, which is expected to significantly reduce farmers' farming costs.
However, matured organic fertilizers cannot be applied for exceeding 2,000 kg per 10 ares, and farmers who received support last year must reapply.
