Anseong-si Implements Fire Prevention Measures for Livestock Farms
Focused Inspection on Electrical Leakage
On the 15th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will intensively promote fire prevention measures for livestock barns during the winter season.
According to the city, as winter approaches, the risk of fire increases due to reinforced insulation facilities, rising humidity inside enclosed livestock barns causing electrical leakage, overheating of outlets, and damage to wire insulation. In particular, it is known that more than 70% of pigsty fire damage is caused by sandwich panels used for double insulation purposes or combustible materials.

The city plans to focus inspections on pig and poultry farms vulnerable to fire, checking ▲ electrical wiring ▲ cleanliness around fans, motors, and outlets ▲ operation of leakage circuit breakers ▲ use of octopus-style power strips.
In addition, the city intends to promote livestock disaster insurance enrollment and support projects for automatic fire extinguishing equipment to prevent barn fires for livestock farmers.
