Former Police Commissioner Suspected of Involvement in 'Incident Broker' Found Dead at Hanam Police Station
A former police commissioner who came under investigation in connection with the 'case broker' allegations being probed by the prosecution was found dead.
According to the Hanam Police Station in Gyeonggi Province on the 15th, former commissioner A was found dead around 10 a.m. that day in a mountain area in Hanam City. A's family reported him missing to the police the previous afternoon, saying "We could not reach him." No signs of trauma or suspicion of homicide were found at the time of discovery. No suicide note or similar documents have been confirmed yet.
The police searched the area around Geomdansan Mountain in Hanam, where the last signal from A's mobile phone was detected, and found A. It is known that A was recently under investigation by the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office in connection with the case broker incident.
