Hwaseong City Social Welfare Foundation Holds 'Welfare Vision for Special City Preparation' Forum
The Gyeonggi-do Hwaseong Social Welfare Foundation announced on the 15th that it held the '2023 2nd Welfare Policy Forum' on the 14th at the Hwaseong City Hall auditorium.
The forum, attended by about 100 people including Jeong Myeong-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong, city council members, social welfare facility and organization workers, and citizens, was held under the theme of 'Establishing Hwaseong City's Welfare Vision in Preparation for Becoming a Special City with a Population of One Million.'

At the forum, Professor Lee Jun-woo of Gangnam University’s Department of Social Welfare delivered the keynote speech titled 'Inclusive Smart Welfare City? Prospects and Challenges of Hwaseong Special City,' and Senior Researcher Kim Hyun-min of the Hwaseong Social Welfare Foundation gave a thematic presentation on 'Establishing an Inclusive Welfare Vision in Preparation for a Special City with One Million Population.'
The forum also featured a panel discussion with participants including Cha Seung-eun, Dean of the Graduate School of Social Welfare at Suwon University; Lee Hyang-sun, Director of Hwaseong City Welfare Policy Division; Park Jae-hyun, Director of Suwon City Care Policy Division; Park Sung-jun, Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs; and Lee Jeong-ho, Director of Hwaseong City Southern Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.

Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun stated, "The welfare sector is the most important part of improving citizens' quality of life in Hwaseong City, which is about to take a new leap forward as a special city." He added, "We will strive to develop welfare by gathering the visions and various opinions presented through the forum."
