Ministerial Commendation for Production Staff Including BTS Concert Sound Director

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will hold an awards ceremony on the afternoon of the 16th at the Stanford Hotel Korea in Mapo-gu, Seoul, for 'Popular Culture and Arts Production Staff.' The event encourages production staff involved in filming, lighting, special effects, editing, costumes, stage, sound, and more, who have contributed to the development of the popular culture and arts industry (film, broadcasting, popular music, musicals).
The recipients of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation are six individuals: Jongwook Kim, Research Fellow at Korean Broadcasting System (KBS); Sungmi Kim, Director of Photography; Taeun Kwon, Music Director; Yoonsu Kim, Director of Photography; Mikyung Kim, CEO of Miso Company; and Youngil Kim, CEO of Tristar Audio. Research Fellow Jongwook Kim has achieved outstanding results over approximately 30 years in broadcast video design and brand identity. His representative works include '2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics' and 'KBS News 9.' Director of Photography Sungmi Kim captured vivid records with the camera while traversing rugged terrains in works such as 'Documentary 3 Days' and 'Don't Cry, Tonz.' Music Director Taeun Kwon directed music for about sixty entertainment programs including 'Phantom Singer,' 'Superband,' 'King of Mask Singer,' 'Sing Again,' and 'Pungnyu Daejang,' delivering deeply engaging stages.
Director of Photography Yoonsu Kim is a master recognized for high-level camera skills and expertise in films such as 'Black Su-seon,' 'Whispering Corridors 2,' and 'The Outlaws.' CEO Mikyung Kim showcased remarkable skills in musicals like 'Jekyll & Hyde,' 'Man of La Mancha,' 'Gwanghwamun Sonata,' and 'Those Days.' CEO Youngil Kim has been responsible for concert sound for various cultural artists including BTS and Big Bang, contributing to promoting K-pop worldwide.
The Korea Creative Content Agency President’s Award goes to thirteen individuals: Jimo Ko, DI Colorist at Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC); Eunseok So, VFX Team Supervisor at SBS A&T Planning Office; Iksoo Ahn, Sound Effects Director; Jonghoon Jung, Art Director; Eunju Noh, Deputy Head of Space Design Department at Korean Educational Broadcasting System (EBS); Gyehyun Ahn, Director of Photography at Bravo Pictures; Junghwa Choi, CEO of the Korean Film Producers Association; Jina Nam, Director of Photography and Lighting; Hoon Jung, Special Equipment Camera Operator at The Grip; Sukjin Seo, Stage Designer; Byungwoo Noh, Stage Director; Jeonggi Lee, CEO of Gridpoint; and Doyeon Kim, CEO of Poedro.
