Busan Office of Education Strengthens Career-Linked Education for Students Transitioning Between School Levels
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has rolled up its sleeves to strengthen the linkage between school levels and career education for students transitioning between middle and high school.
Busan Office of Education is distributing the career-linked educational material, the "Jinggeomdari Program," to schools.
Every year, the Office of Education has provided middle school students with information about the curriculum, teaching and assessment methods, and effective learning strategies of the next school level to reduce students' vague anxiety and academic burden, supporting confident school life.
This year’s distributed "Jinggeomdari Program" was developed by selecting 15 development and review committee members in July, including career guidance teachers for middle and high schools and teachers of Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. It consists of student workbooks, video materials, and teacher resources.
The student workbooks were produced in a total of 3 volumes covering 39 sessions.
Volume 1, "Solid Stepping Stone," includes content such as organizing middle school life, adapting to high school life, and time management. Volume 2, "A Taste of the High School Credit System," contains content based on understanding the high school credit system, planning academic studies applying the credit system, and a preview of the school life record.
Volume 3, "Strengthening Self-Directed Learning Competence," includes content on establishing study habits and understanding and applying self-directed learning methods for five subjects.
The Busan Office of Education has distributed not only booklets but also video content and training materials for teacher capacity building to ensure the solid implementation of career-linked education, a key focus of the 2022 revised curriculum for middle schools.
