On the 13th, HiteJinro announced on the 14th that it held a ceremony to deliver support funds to 12 firefighter families, including education expenses for firefighter children, living expenses for bereaved families, and litigation costs, at the HiteJinro Seocho-dong headquarters.
HiteJinro has been conducting the firefighter family support program annually since 2018 as part of the Fire Agency sponsorship projects. To comfort firefighter families and help their children achieve social independence, it provides consolation money, scholarships, and emergency living expenses. It also supports litigation costs such as attorney fees to help firefighters who died by suicide due to work stress or illness be recognized as having died in the line of duty. In fact, since 2020, four families have been recognized as line-of-duty deaths through litigation.
