Dongmyeong University Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology Hosts Special Lecture by Expert
The Department of Counseling Psychology at Dongmyung University held a special expert lecture on the understanding of psychiatric science for undergraduate and graduate students on the 9th.
The lecture was delivered by Professor Jang Ok-jin from the Department of Psychiatry at Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital.
In the lecture, Professor Jang communicated with the students by explaining the reciprocal relationship between psychiatric science and psychology based on an understanding of psychiatric science.
Hwang Seo-yeon, a student in the Department of Counseling Psychology, said, “I participated with great interest as I am preparing to enter graduate school for clinical psychology,” adding, “It was interesting to learn how psychiatry and psychology are connected.”
Kim Kyung-mi, head of the Department of Counseling Psychology, said, “With the department name changing to Counseling and Clinical Psychology next year, we organized this event to strengthen the competitiveness of counseling and clinical psychology,” and expressed hope that “this will provide new students with opportunities to choose various career paths and advance into multiple mental health fields.”

Starting in 2024, the Department of Counseling Psychology at Dongmyung University will change its name to the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology to meet the diverse demands for counseling and clinical psychology, and will produce experts not only in youth counseling but also in clinical psychology.
