Jindo-gun Receives Presidential Citation for Agricultural Day Meritorious Farmer

Vice Chairman Park Ki-tae of Uisin-myeon and Representative Park Chun-sik of Gogeun-myeon Elevate Jindo-gun's Prestige

On the occasion of the 28th Farmers' Day, two farmers from Jindo-gun were honored with the Presidential Citation.

Farmers' Day is a legally designated commemorative day on November 11 every year to enhance the pride and self-esteem of farmers and to reflect on the importance of agriculture.

According to the county on the 13th, the event, hosted by Jeollanam-do and Jangseong-gun and organized by the Jeollanam-do Federation of Agricultural Organizations, was attended by about 1,000 farmers and organizations from across Jeollanam-do, providing a venue for exchange and harmony.

On this day, the event included watching videos of exemplary cases of farmers protecting Jeonnam agriculture and rural areas, awarding meritorious persons, awarding excellent counties and cities in agricultural policy evaluation, performances, and a performance under the theme "Jeonnam Leads Korea's Advanced AI Agricultural Industry."

Park Ki-tae, Vice Chairman of External Cooperation of the Korea Successor Agricultural Managers Jeollanam-do Federation from Uisin-myeon, Jindo-gun, and Park Chun-sik, CEO of Hwanggeum Farm Kimchi from Gogeun-myeon, Jindo-gun, each received the Presidential Citation for meritorious service on Farmers' Day, enhancing the county's prestige.

The awardees said, "It is an infinite honor to receive this precious award," and added, "We will work harder for the development of agriculture and rural areas in Jindo-gun in the face of the difficult agricultural realities both domestically and internationally."

A representative from the Jindo-gun Agricultural Support Division stated, "We will do our best to improve farmers' income and enhance agricultural convenience."

Meanwhile, since the 8th local government administration, Jindo-gun has been promoting more than a 30% increase in the budget for agriculture and fisheries, expansion of organizations in the agriculture and fisheries sectors, and payment of public interest allowances to farmers and fishermen.
