KB Securities Hosts Cultural Performance for Hearing-Impaired Individuals and Their Families
On the 10th, KB Securities held a social contribution project titled 'Resonance in a Silent World with Kkaebi Securities' at its Yeouido headquarters, inviting a total of 200 people including hearing-impaired individuals, their families, and sponsors to enjoy a cultural performance together, the company announced on the 13th.

For this cultural performance, the non-verbal comedy show 'Ongals' was selected so that hearing-impaired people could also enjoy it. 'Ongals' is a performance that uses non-verbal communication methods such as gestures instead of dialogue. It was started with the aim of creating comedy that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities, including both disabled and non-disabled audiences.
According to the 2022 Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'National Disability Status,' there are approximately 420,000 hearing-impaired individuals, making it the second largest type among all disabilities. However, since it is not a visibly apparent disability, social awareness is very lacking. Therefore, KB Securities judged that raising awareness about hearing impairment is essential and planned this 'Resonance in a Silent World with Kkaebi Securities' campaign.
This campaign was carried out in collaboration with Love's Snail (Sarang-ui Dalpaengi), an NGO supporting hearing-impaired people, to promote continuous awareness improvement and encourage public sponsorship participation. A promotional booth was operated next to the performance venue to conduct the awareness campaign and recruit new sponsors. The campaign was also promoted to the approximately 27,000 subscribers of Love's Snail newsletter to actively encourage awareness improvement. Notably, many KB Securities employees also participated as new sponsors and enjoyed the cultural performance together, adding significance to the campaign.
Additionally, KB Securities will donate a separate sponsorship fund to Love's Snail's 'Hearing-Impaired Sound Companion Support Project' corresponding to the number of audience members participating in the performance and awareness campaign. The Sound Companion Support Project is a comprehensive solution addressing various needs that may arise throughout the life cycle of hearing-impaired individuals, accompanying them on their sound journey. Through this sponsorship, comprehensive speech rehabilitation therapy and follow-up care will be provided to hearing-impaired children.
