Daemyung Sono Group, Samaksan Cable Car Selected as '2024 Open Tourism Site' by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism
Selected as a Representative Nighttime Tourist Attraction
Daemyung Sono Group's Sono International announced on the 13th that the Samaksan Lake Cable Car in Chuncheon has been selected as a new industrial site and a representative nighttime tourist attraction by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.
The Samaksan Cable Car was recently chosen as one of the 30 "2024 Open Tourism Project New Sites" selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. These sites improve walkways and slopes to alleviate mobility inconveniences and create travel conditions that are convenient and enjoyable for everyone. In particular, detailed project plans will be finalized through customized on-site consultations involving barrier-free (obstacle-free living environment) experts and persons with disabilities.
It was also named among the "Nighttime Tourist Attractions More Beautiful at Night" announced by the Korea Tourism Organization. The Samaksan Cable Car, which connects Samcheon-dong across Uiam Lake to Samaksan Mountain, offers a wide-open view for comfortable rest and memorable experiences not only during the day but also at night. Since local governments select resources with high potential for nighttime tourism and significant contributions to regional tourism revitalization through expert evaluations, it is expected to expand its position as a landmark representing Chuncheon.
