Incheon Airport Corporation Signs MOU to Promote Linked Tourism
8 Companies Unite
Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 13th that it has signed a multilateral business agreement to revitalize tourism in the Incheon area. The corporation, along with Incheon City, Korea Tourism Organization, Incheon Port Authority, Incheon Tourism Organization, Inspire Integrated Resort, Paradise Segasami, and KAL Hotel Network, held the ‘Incheon International Hub Linked Tourism Revitalization Business Agreement and Strategy Presentation’ at the Grand Hyatt Incheon Hotel on the morning of the same day.
The purpose of this agreement is to expand the cooperation base so that travelers using Incheon’s international hub can be attracted to the Incheon area and marine tourism. If airport users are absorbed as local tourists and related tourism industry investments are activated, it is expected to greatly help the mutual development of the airport and the region.
The corporation proposed this business agreement based on the fact that although 70-80% of foreigners entering Korea this year use Incheon Airport, they are not connected to local tourism. According to data from the Korea Tourism Organization, the proportion of Incheon being mentioned as a tourist destination among domestic cities is 33%, which is lower compared to Seoul (80%) and Busan (61%).

They plan to form a related working-level consultative body to promote detailed cooperative projects. Specifically, they will develop themed transit tourism products that highlight Incheon’s unique attractions such as its port opening history, islands, and international city status, and also activate programs linking aviation and marine tourism.
A new ‘Incheon Airport Transit Tour and Incheon Tourism Promotion Center’ will be established on the expansion site of Incheon Airport’s Terminal 2, scheduled for completion in the second half of next year.
