Seongnam City to Create 242 Jobs for Disabled Next Year... 3.7 Billion Won Invested
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will invest 3.7 billion KRW next year to create a total of 242 jobs for people with disabilities, an increase of 15 jobs compared to this year.
On the 13th, Seongnam City announced that from the 15th to the 22nd of this month, it will recruit participants for three types of job programs for people with disabilities: ▲72 full-time general positions ▲31 part-time general positions ▲139 welfare jobs.
The full-time general positions offer a monthly salary of 2,060,740 KRW for 40 hours of work per week from January to December next year, while the part-time positions offer 1,033,700 KRW for 20 hours of work per week.
The welfare jobs provide a monthly salary of 552,160 KRW for 14 hours per week (56 hours per month).
Work locations include city and district offices, community welfare centers, post offices, libraries, and comprehensive welfare centers for people with disabilities. Depending on the assigned institution, duties include administrative assistance, librarian assistance, mail sorting, assistance with monitoring disabled parking zones, and environmental helper roles.
Applicants must be unemployed people with disabilities registered in Seongnam City who are 18 years or older as of January 1 next year.
Those wishing to participate should submit an application form and a copy of their disability registration card to their local community welfare center (for full-time and part-time general positions) or to the project executing organizations, Seongnam Disabled Welfare Center or Seongnam Disabled Association (for welfare jobs), within the application period.
Applicants must attend an interview on December 11 at a location notified individually.
Seongnam City will comprehensively evaluate applicants’ work experience, income level, social activity ability, and willingness to participate, and notify them individually of the results before December 26.

A Seongnam City official stated, "We have created jobs in various fields for people with disabilities who face high employment barriers and increased the number of participants by 15 from 227 this year. We expect this to reduce prejudice against people with disabilities and enhance their pride as members of society."
