Kindergartens in Gwangju Region Draw Attention with 'Farmers' Day' Celebration Instead of Pepero Day
Shinyong Kindergarten 'Garaetteok Sharing' Event
Promoting Rice Consumption and Expressing Gratitude to Farmers
A kindergarten in the Gwangju area attracted attention by holding a ‘Farmer’s Day’ commemorative event instead of Pepero Day.
According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on the 12th, Sinyong Kindergarten held a ‘Sharing Garaetteok’ event for children, parents, and residents from the 9th to the 10th.
This event was held in celebration of Farmer’s Day on November 11th, allowing children, parents, and residents to appreciate the importance of traditional foods and the value of rice.
The children learned about ‘Farmer’s Day’ and foods that can be made from rice, shared garaetteok with their friends, and expressed gratitude to farmers.
Additionally, they shared warm feelings by setting up a tasting corner in the kindergarten yard and distributing garaetteok near the apartment complex to parents and residents.
A resident who received garaetteok said, “It was very heartwarming to see the children personally sharing the rice cakes,” and added, “Through this event, I was able to feel the warmth of a caring neighborhood.”
