Suddenly Cold Weather... Lotte Department Store's Outerwear Sales Soar
Sales of Fashion Products Increased by 50% Week-on-Week from 7th to 11th
Luxury Wear, Sports, Outdoor Up 25~65%
Premium and Outdoor Padding Gifts and Sales Starting from 17th
Recently, as the weather suddenly turned cold, more people are visiting department stores to look for winter outerwear.
Lotte Department Store announced on the 13th that sales of major fashion product categories increased by 50% compared to the same period last week during the five days from the 7th to the 11th, when temperatures began to drop significantly. This is due to the increased demand for winter outerwear. Outdoor wear rose by 65%, luxury wear by 45%, and sportswear by 25%, showing growth centered on these categories, with immediate sales changes in categories with a large proportion of outerwear. Compared to the same period (same day of the week) last year, total sales of fashion product categories also increased by about 10%.
The sharply colder weather is expected to have a positive impact on department store sales growth. November and December are among the months with the highest monthly sales proportions. How fashion brands perform during this period can significantly affect their annual results.
Lotte Department Store will hold customer appreciation events, sales, and pop-ups for fashion brands such as premium padding and outdoor padding from the 17th to the 19th. Brands including Canada Goose, Nobis, Herno, Parajumpers, Duvetica, Mackage, and Fusalp will participate, offering a 10% Lotte gift certificate for purchases over a certain amount. Outdoor brands such as The North Face, K2, and Nordisk will also provide a 10% Lotte gift certificate.
Nobis will offer a 10% discount on products priced over 1 million won, such as the 'Aura' and 'Yateshi XF,' and will give a bucket hat as a gift with the purchase of 2023 fall/winter new products. Parajumpers will give AirPods pouches to customers who purchase outerwear, Mackage will provide Mackage beanies with purchases, and Fusalp will offer handmade chocolates to customers. The fur brand Sabatti will sell items like the 'Mink Cashmere Combo Vest' at an additional 10% discount on top of a 20% discounted price and will also provide gifts based on purchase amounts.
