Seodaemun-gu "Practice Carbon Neutrality with Paperless Bills"
Promotion of 'Local Tax Electronic Delivery' On-site Visit... Instant Application Acceptance
Seodaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Seongheon) has launched an initiative to expand subscribers to the ‘Local Tax Electronic Delivery’ service as part of efforts toward carbon neutrality and environmental preservation by promoting paperless tax notices.
Recently, the district visited apartments and commercial buildings in Bukgajwa-dong to promote subscription to ‘Local Tax Electronic Delivery and Automatic Payment.’ On-site, they explained related benefits such as tax deductions and accepted applications.
Residents passing by the promotional banners showed great interest, saying, “I didn’t know there were such benefits; I should sign up.”
By using ‘Electronic Delivery,’ subscribers can check tax notice details electronically via email, simple payment apps, or financial apps instead of receiving paper notices. ‘Automatic Payment’ is a service that automatically deducts the payment from a designated account on the due date.
If you apply for only one of ‘Electronic Delivery’ or ‘Automatic Payment,’ you can receive a tax deduction of 800 KRW per notice; if you apply for both, the deduction is 1,600 KRW per notice. For example, in the case of resident tax, if you apply for both, you only pay 4,400 KRW instead of 6,000 KRW. The benefits apply from the month following the service application.
Applications can be made via Seoul City’s ETAX, the mobile app STAX, or by submitting an application form at the dedicated counter of the district office’s Tax Comprehensive Civil Service Office. Seodaemun-gu also provides small promotional items for new applicants.
For detailed information regarding the application for electronic delivery and automatic payment, please contact the Tax Division 1 of Seodaemun District Office.
