Two large vehicles collided near the Seosang Interchange (IC) on the Tongyeong-Daejeon Expressway in Seosang-myeon, Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters and the Gyeongnam Police Agency Highway Patrol, at 2:01 PM on the 10th, a 25-ton truck traveling in the Daejeon direction on the Tongyeong-Daejeon Expressway near the Yuksipryeong Tunnel in the three-lane one-way section collided with a 5-ton wing body truck.
As a result of the collision, flames erupted from both vehicles, and the plastic composite resin carried by the 5-ton truck caught fire, covering the area in thick black smoke.
The driver of the 5-ton truck, Mr. A in his 60s, sustained facial lacerations and was transported to a hospital.
Firefighters who responded following a report from another passing vehicle managed to extinguish the major fire around 3:23 PM.
The police are currently redirecting traffic near the accident site to national roads, causing vehicle congestion about 5 km from the area.
