Ministry of Health and Welfare Expands Home Medical Care Center Pilot Project...Listening to Field Voices
Kim Hyun-jun, Director of the Population Policy Office at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, visited the long-term care home medical center 'Uri Dongnae 30 Bun Clinic' located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 10th to listen to on-site voices. This visit was made to hear the difficulties faced on the ground and to prepare improvement measures ahead of the expansion of the home medical center pilot project next year.
The long-term care home medical center pilot project is a program where doctors, nurses, and social workers visit the homes of elderly people with mobility difficulties to provide medical services and connect necessary community services, allowing them to continue living in their own homes rather than hospitals or facilities. It has been promoted since December last year. As of September, 28 medical institutions are providing services to 1,993 long-term care beneficiaries.
