Goheung-gun Supports Youth Housing Rent Up to 200,000 KRW per Month
Income Criteria Relaxed from 150% to 180% Starting November
Support Fund Increased from 100,000 to 200,000 Won
Gohung County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will expand the currently ongoing ‘Youth Stepping Stone Housing Stability Support Project’ from November to alleviate the housing cost burden on young people and encourage them to settle in the region.
The ‘Youth Stepping Stone Housing Stability Support Project’ provides monthly rent support to young people aged 18 to 49 who have lived in Gohung County for more than six months.
The existing monthly rent support project mainly targeted low-income youth, resulting in low application rates and practical difficulties in alleviating the housing cost burden for young people.
Accordingly, the county expanded the income eligibility criteria from the previous 150% to 180%, increased the support amount from 100,000 KRW to a maximum of 200,000 KRW, and extended the support period from one year to two years, allowing a wider range of young people to receive more benefits.
A county official said, “We hope this will greatly help young people with heavy housing cost burdens to settle in the region,” adding, “We will continue to strive to discover various policies for youth.”
