Changwon Special City, "What to Do When Bedbugs Appear? Here's How to Respond"
Guidance for Citizens on Bedbug Prevention and Response Methods to Eliminate Bedbugs Quickly and Safely
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam recently took response measures to prevent the spread of bedbugs in the local community following numerous occurrences in Seoul, Incheon, and other areas.
Although bedbugs are not pests subject to management under the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act" as they do not transmit infectious diseases, they are pests that cause discomfort by disturbing sleep through human bloodsucking and inducing itching and secondary skin infections.
Accordingly, Changwon City is providing information on bedbug prevention and response, as well as a list of disinfection service providers, on its website to alleviate public anxiety and enable prompt action upon discovery of bedbugs.
In addition, the city has issued guidelines for bedbug response to multi-use facilities such as lodging establishments where bedbug incidence is high, to prevent citizens from suffering damage caused by bedbugs.
