Jindo Green Onion Finds a Path to Win-Win Cooperation Between Rural Areas and Businesses Through Loconomy

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award at the 2023 Government Proactive Administration Best Practices Competition hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety at the Government Sejong Complex on the 8th.

According to the county on the 10th, this competition selected excellent cases of proactive administration from local governments and public institutions nationwide through fair evaluations including expert document screening and online public voting (On-Gukmin Communication).

Jindo-gun submitted the Jindo Green Onion Burger under the theme "Jindo Green Onion, Finding a Path of Coexistence Between Rural Areas and Enterprises through Loconomy."

The Jindo Green Onion Burger, created in collaboration with McDonald's, revitalized the local agricultural economy of Jindo, contributed to building the brand image of Jindo Green Onion, and was highly evaluated as a model case of loconomy for value consumption by companies and coexistence with local farms.

In particular, Jindo-gun's award this time was praised as an exceptional achievement alongside Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do in the basic local government category, and in August, it contributed to widely promoting the excellence of Jindo Green Onion by winning first place, the grand prize, at the 2023 Jeollanam-do Proactive Administration Competition.

An official from the Jindo Agricultural and Fisheries Distribution Business Group said, "We consider it an honor to have achieved the results of our efforts to support local farmers and fishermen to make Jindo a better place to live," and added, "We will continue to do our best to discover proactive administration and policies that residents can feel."
