20s Delivery Motorcycle Rider Dies After Colliding with Construction Vehicle of Changwon S-BRT Project

A motorcyclist passing near the high-end Bus Rapid Transit (S-BRT) construction site on Woni-daero, Seongsan-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, collided with a traffic controller and a signal vehicle, resulting in death.
According to Changwon Jungbu Police Station on the 9th, at around 11:17 a.m. on the 8th, a delivery motorcycle heading toward Changwon City Hall struck a traffic controller in his 50s who was directing traffic at a two-lane S-BRT construction site near the Seongsan-gu Citizen Sports Center intersection.
The motorcycle that hit the traffic controller also crashed into the rear of a parked 1-ton signal vehicle truck.
Due to the accident, the motorcyclist in his 20s, Mr. A, was seriously injured and transported to the hospital but ultimately passed away.
The traffic controller, Mr. B, was also injured but is reported to be in stable condition.
At the time, it was understood that electrical relocation work for traffic lights installation for the S-BRT was being carried out on lanes 1 and 2 of the four-lane road.
