Gwangju Seo-gu 'Sinyuchon Bridge Nightscape' Created... 95 Million Won Invested

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) is gifting residents with a beautiful and walkable Gwangju Stream enhanced by nighttime scenery.

According to Seo-gu on the 8th, the 'Shinyuchon Bridge Nighttime Scenery Project,' which began in July, has been completed, and lighting will start from the 13th.

Shinyuchon Bridge is a bridge passing through Yudeok-dong and Dongcheon-dong, and it is the only bridge among the Gwangju Stream management bridges in the district that did not have nighttime scenery installed. It is an approximately 27-year-old aging bridge.

In response to local residents' requests for improvement, Seo-gu invested 95 million KRW to install 120 meters of LED line bars and six floodlights on the upper part of the bridge, creating a dynamic wave-shaped image with various colors to provide an attractive nighttime environment.

A Seo-gu official stated, “Through the Shinyuchon Bridge nighttime scenery improvement project, we aim to provide residents in the city center with a bright image of Seo-gu, prevent safety accidents during dark nights, and promote nighttime urban functions.”
