Toyota Surpasses 300 Million Units in Cumulative Global Production After 88 Years
Japan's Toyota has surpassed a cumulative global production of 300 million vehicles. This milestone was achieved 88 years and 2 months after the production of the first vehicle, the 'G1 truck,' by Toyota's predecessor, Toyota Automatic Loom Works Automobile Department, in August 1935.
According to reports from Kyodo News and Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) on the 6th (local time), as of September this year, Toyota has produced 180.52 million vehicles domestically and 110.96 million vehicles overseas.
Toyota increased its cumulative production by 100 million vehicles in 11 years since reaching 200 million in 2012.
Nikkei reported, "During this period, Toyota produced one vehicle every 3.5 seconds," adding, "The time taken to increase cumulative production from 100 million to 200 million vehicles was 4 years longer than the recent period."
