[Tomorrow's Weather] Heavy Rain Nationwide... Accompanied by Gusts, Thunder, and Lightning
On Monday the 6th, gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning will accompany the rain that fell nationwide over the weekend.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 5th, warm and humid air rising from the southwest will meet cold air descending from the northwest, forming a strong rain cloud band. From the night of the 5th until the morning of the 6th, very heavy rain accompanied by gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning will pour down at a rate of 20 to 40 mm per hour in some areas.
The rain will mostly stop in most regions by the afternoon of the 6th, but it will continue until dawn on the 7th in the central regions excluding the east coast of Gangwon, eastern Jeonbuk, and northern inland Gyeongbuk.
Expected precipitation amounts are 30 to 80 mm (with some places exceeding 100 mm) in the Seoul metropolitan area, western Gangwon, Chungcheong region, Jeolla region, northern Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam region, and southern, mid-mountain, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island; 20 to 60 mm in central and southern Chungbuk, Daegu and southern Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo and Dokdo, and coastal areas of Jeju Island; and 10 to 60 mm in eastern Gangwon. In Jeju Island, some places may receive more than 120 mm.
From dawn on the 6th until the morning of the 7th, strong winds with instantaneous wind speeds exceeding 90 km/h (25 m/s) will blow along the Incheon and Gyeonggi West Coast, northern Chungnam West Coast, eastern Gangwon, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island. In most regions, instantaneous wind speeds of 70 to 90 km/h (20 to 25 m/s) will bring very strong cold winds, and there is a possibility that strong wind warnings will be issued.
Temperatures will drop sharply nationwide by about 5 to 10 degrees, and after the 7th, there is a possibility of snow in areas where rain falls. Expected snowfall amounts are 1 to 3 cm in the Gangwon mountainous areas; around 1 cm in northeastern Gyeonggi and inland Gangwon; and less than 1 cm in northeastern inland and mountainous areas of northern Gyeongbuk.

The lowest temperatures on the morning of the 6th and the highest temperatures during the day will be 15 to 21 degrees Celsius and 16 to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. On the 7th, the lowest temperatures in the morning and the highest temperatures during the day will be 1 to 12 degrees Celsius and 8 to 18 degrees Celsius, respectively. The expected lowest and highest temperatures on the 6th in major cities are Seoul and Incheon at 16 degrees and 16 degrees, Daejeon at 18 degrees and 19 degrees, Gwangju at 18 degrees and 20 degrees, Daegu and Ulsan at 18 degrees and 22 degrees, and Busan at 20 degrees and 23 degrees.
