7 out of 10 Baby Boomers in Gyeonggi-do Say "I Want to Keep Working"
Gyeonggi Province disclosed the results of the "Gyeonggi Province Baby Boomer Status and Support Policy Demand Survey" on the 5th, conducted in August with 1,000 baby boomers (born 1955?1974) residing in the province.

Gyeonggi-do disclosed the results of the ‘Gyeonggi-do Baby Boomer Status and Support Policy Demand Survey’ conducted in August on 1,000 baby boomers (born 1955?1974) in the province on the 5th.
The survey results showed that 71.7% (717 people) answered that they have the intention to continue working for income regardless of age.
The most needed policy for the baby boomer generation was ‘job employment support,’ accounting for 40.7%.
By sector, the necessary policies were ▲In learning activity support: ‘Expansion of vocational education for employment and job skill development’ (30.1%) ▲In employment and start-up support policies: ‘Provision of counseling and information related to jobs and education for reemployment’ (27.4%) ▲In social contribution activity support policies: ‘Development and discovery of various community-centered social contribution activities’ (20.5%) ▲In policies to prevent social and psychological isolation: ‘Support for forming hobby and activity communities’ (41.6%).

Lee Eun-sook, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Baby Boomer Opportunity Division, said, "This survey is meaningful in that it confirmed the diverse policy demands and needs of the baby boomer generation, which accounts for 31.5% of the total population of Gyeonggi-do," adding, "Based on the survey results, we will discover and implement customized policies such as job support for creating social value for baby boomers to effectively promote the ‘Gyeonggi-do Baby Boomer Re-leap Support.’"
