BPA Holds 'Port Safety Management Advancement Workshop'
Busan Port Authority (BPA) held the '2023 3rd Port Safety Management Advancement Work Exchange Meeting' on the 2nd and 3rd at the BPA headquarters and the Busan Training Center of the Korea Port Training Institute, together with safety officers from four port authorities nationwide.
At this work exchange meeting, excellent safety management cases and ongoing activities from each port authority were shared, and matters related to safety and health laws such as the 'Industrial Safety and Health Act' and the 'Serious Accidents Punishment Act' were discussed.
During the exchange, BPA introduced the 'Large and Small Business Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Project,' an excellent safety management case. BPA is the first port authority to participate in this project, carrying out various activities such as safety and health consulting and providing safety supplies to partner companies.

Additionally, attendees shared safety management know-how related to safety and health field evaluations, including the safety management grading system, and exchanged diverse opinions on ways to improve practical safety management levels.
Um Gi-yong, Director of Disaster Safety at BPA, said, "This work exchange meeting provided a meaningful time to share know-how and challenges related to safety laws, each port's work promotion, and evaluation response directions," adding, "We will continue to promote communication and cooperation to create even safer ports."
