"Give Me Money" ... 60-Year-Old Man Wielding Weapon at Woman Using ATM
A man in his 60s who threatened a woman using a cash machine (ATM) with a weapon while demanding money has been arrested.
The Sasang Police Station in Busan announced on the 3rd that they have apprehended and are investigating Mr. A on charges of robbery and injury.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of stabbing a woman in her 50s, Ms. B, with a weapon to steal cash while she was using an ATM at a bank in Jurye-dong around 7 p.m. on the 2nd.
Mr. A demanded money from Ms. B, and when she resisted, he swung the weapon at her shoulder and then fled. It is understood that he escaped before the money was withdrawn and did not take any cash.
The police tracked him using CCTV and other means, and arrested Mr. A at a nearby villa about 2 hours and 40 minutes after the crime.
Ms. B was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is reported to be in a stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.

A police official stated, “Mr. A confessed that he committed the crime due to financial difficulties,” and added, “We plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the exact circumstances of the crime.”
