Twenty participants each took part in the musical and orchestra courses, undergoing theoretical education, vocal training, dance and acting practice, and instrumental ensemble rehearsals.
In particular, this program attracted a diverse age range from the youngest at 6 years old to the oldest at 68 years old, with three-generation families, couples, siblings, and friends participating together, creating harmony of unity, communication, and love.
The presentation featured orchestra performances of ‘Nella Fantasia’ and ‘On a Wonderful Day in October,’ followed by musical performances of ‘Jangbuga’ and ‘Danjidongmaeng,’ parts of the musical work Hero.
Additionally, the musical troupe and orchestra jointly performed ‘Beautiful World’ and ‘Beautiful Country’ to conclude the event.
Participants on stage shared their impressions, saying, “I finally fulfilled a bucket list I had carried in my heart for a lifetime,” “I discovered new joy,” “After turning 60, I was wondering what to do, and I finally found what I want to do,” and “It is a great happiness to be able to perform on stage with my granddaughter.”
Before the performance, Seo-gu presented certificates of completion to participants who finished the ‘Music ui Sin’ education course.
Mayor Kim Ikang said, “Seo-gu, a cultural city where rest, leisure, and music flow, is not just about residents watching and enjoying as spectators, but residents themselves participate to complete a high-quality culture,” adding, “We will spare no interest and support so that more residents can lead happier lives through the ‘Music ui Sin’ program.”
Meanwhile, Seo-gu is also promoting the ‘Jangsa ui Sin’ program to help small business owners with management strategies and sales increase, and the ‘Munhwa ui Sin’ project to nurture young cultural planners, in addition to ‘Music ui Sin.’
