Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang Mayors Share Time of Harmony in Garden

Pledging Mutual Growth and Continued Cooperation Through Invitational Dinner

The mayors of the three cities in the eastern region of Jeonnam, Yeosun-gwang, had a special meeting in the garden.

Suncheon City announced on the 30th that the mayors of the three cities?Jeong Gi-myeong of Yeosu, Noh Gwan-gyu of Suncheon, and Jeong In-hwa of Gwangyang?had a time of harmony at Garden Stay Shillange within the National Garden.

This meeting was initiated by Suncheon Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu to express gratitude to Yeosu and Gwangyang for their active support, such as advance ticket purchases, for the successful hosting of the Garden Expo, and to strengthen the joint prosperity and harmony of the three cities.

The dinner on this day was specially prepared using seafood and other ingredients produced locally, adding significance by leading efforts to promote seafood consumption.

At the meeting, Suncheon Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu said, “I thank Yeosu Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong and Gwangyang Mayor Jeong In-hwa for their generous cooperation and support for the success of the Garden Expo,” and expressed his gratitude, saying, “Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang are not competitors but one community. Let us continue to unite so that the Gwangyang Bay area can be recognized as the center of the South Coast Belt.”

Yeosu Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong applauded Suncheon Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu’s passion and drive, which proved that one leader can change a city, and emphasized the concept of a mega city by saying, “Suncheon’s garden is also the garden of Yeosu and Gwangyang.”

Gwangyang Mayor Jeong In-hwa sincerely congratulated the great success of the Garden Expo, saying, “You accomplished an amazing and difficult task with outstanding leadership in a short period,” and responded, “Let us work together with the three cities to ensure the prosperity and mutual development of the entire Gwangyang Bay area.”

Meanwhile, the mayors of the three cities pledged to continue such special meetings not as one-time events but as ongoing efforts for harmony and mutual development.

The future steps of the three cities in the Gwangyang Bay area are highly anticipated.
