Infected animals exhibit symptoms such as high fever and skin nodules (hard lumps), and problems such as reduced milk production, abortion, infertility, and death may occur. The incubation period is usually short, ranging from 4 to 14 days, with a maximum of 28 days.
The Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters is composed of 10 departments, including the Livestock Division and Disaster Response Officer, maintaining a 24-hour quarantine system and entering an emergency response posture to prevent the spread of Lumpy Skin Disease.
The headquarters swiftly completed initial responses such as installing control posts and restricting movement along the routes of infected cattle farms, setting quarantine zones, blocking blood-sucking insects, and culling at the affected farms. They are also actively promoting quarantine activities through card news on the city’s homepage.
