Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 31st at the new Seokdong Administrative Welfare Center building, pledging a new leap forward.
The opening ceremony was attended by Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, provincial and city council members, heads of organizations, and over 120 local residents.

View original imageThe existing Seokdong building was constructed 34 years ago, and due to its aging structure and limited space, residents continuously requested the construction of a new building. In March 2022, construction of the new building began with a total project cost of 8.4 billion KRW and was completed last September.
The new building has a total area of 2,145.48㎡, consisting of one basement floor and four above-ground floors. The first floor houses a civil service office and consultation rooms designed to accommodate socially vulnerable groups. On the second floor, a book caf? was established as a space for residents to relax and communicate. The second and third floors include program rooms for residents to enjoy cultural activities, and the fourth floor features a large auditorium suitable for large-scale events and singing classes, serving as a space for the community.
