Glendale highly appreciated Bando Construction’s pioneering spirit after successfully completing the ‘The BORA 3170’ residential-commercial project in Los Angeles, USA, in March as a self-developed project, marking Bando’s successful entry into the US housing market as a developer and contractor. Glendale expressed hope for collaboration related to urban development and has maintained an organic cooperative relationship by seeking advice on the architectural methods and development business models incorporating Korean-style residential culture demonstrated by Bando Construction.
Glendale is the third largest city among 88 cities in the Greater Los Angeles area and is facing a worsening housing shortage due to a growing population. The city is striving to ensure stable housing supply by offering various incentives such as height restrictions and increased floor area ratios. Additionally, Glendale is very interested in urban park projects utilizing space above highways and is known to have significant interest in similar development projects already underway in Korea.
In March, Bando Construction successfully completed ‘The BORA 3170’ residential-commercial project in Los Angeles as a self-developed project, attracting attention locally by incorporating Korean-style residential culture and achieving approximately 80% lease contract rate within six months.
‘The BORA 3170’ is a residential-commercial project consisting of 252 units that introduces the Bando Yubora brand and Korean residential culture to the US housing market. It is known to be well-received locally due to its development method involving Korean capital and design applying Korea’s high-end residential culture.
