On the 31st, Samsung Electronics announced its consolidated results for the third quarter of 2023 (July to September), reporting sales of 67.4 trillion KRW and an operating profit of 2.43 trillion KRW.
Sales increased by 12.3% compared to the second quarter of this year, reaching 67.4 trillion KRW, driven by the launch of new flagship smartphone models and expanded sales of premium display products. However, sales decreased by 12.21% compared to the same period last year.
Operating profit rose by 1.77 trillion KRW from the previous quarter to 2.43 trillion KRW, supported by a reduced deficit in the semiconductor (DS) division, steady sales of flagship smartphones, and increased demand for new products from key display customers. Nevertheless, this figure represents a 77.57% decline compared to the third quarter of last year.
Samsung Electronics had previously announced preliminary third-quarter results of sales around 67 trillion KRW and an operating profit of 2.4 trillion KRW.
